About

Li Montalvo (they/them) is a Puerto Rican artist based in Indianapolis, IN. Graduated from Naropa University with studies in Visual Arts and Contemplative Psychology, and graduate studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Their paintings delve into the landscape of the psyche—is interested in how attention, emotion, and inner experience shape the way we see and relate to the world— the place of possibilities where reality is constructed. They believe it is only through mindfulness that we can create a gap for mindful action to occur.

“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
